Even on holidays we can't escape from some good ol'house work. The summer house was in desperate need of paint and so here is everyone...hard at work. Where am I? Taking a picture from the nice lounge chair, as I supervise! (well, ok, I did actually help out a bit!)

This is Adam drinking the world's best hot chocolate...at least according to a high school history teacher he had! After walking away from this hot chocolate once when he was in Paris with Matt 3 years ago (6 euros was beyond their budget for a hot drink), he just couldn't go back to Paris without actually trying it this time! So we met up with two friends of his that he worked with at Parliament Hill and some of their friends and it was pretty amazing hot chocolate!!!
Louvre! We did go in here! What an amazing amazing place. I felt a little claustrophobic when I thought we were lost and couldn't get out. I did NOT want to spend the night all cozy with spooky paintings and statues!
NotreDame! We didn't go in but it sure looks pretty.
Cite! When we took a cab back to UGB we always said CITE... then there was a metro stop called CITE. Okay - so, maybe it is more exciting for me than for all of you...

The Eiffel tower! Quite impressive. Eiffel also built the bridge in Saint Louis!
We made it to PARIS! Funny toilets...MAX 15 minutes or the door opens....eek

Arch 22 - Commemorates Gambia's independence. Apparently only the president is allowed to drive under it. Lucky for us there was construction so we walked under it! We felt special.

These boats take people out to see hippos! We went out to see hippos but unfortunately they were all hiding...we did see monkeys!
Dirty and tired but IN THE GAMBIA!
In this town they have an old 'slave house' that the young tour guides tell people was a shipping point for slaves. Apparently though none of the buildings in this town date from that time period at all... but it does serve as a nice memorial even if it isn't necessarily 100% true...

I burnt my leg on a motorcycle! OUch
This is when we waited ALL day at a small garage for a car to fill leaving Guinea, after having spent the night in the car because our car engine burst in flames and killed the headlights. Oh adventures!
Aaah stretching the legs - hour 10 in the car!
Our sweet ride! This wasn't the one we were in when the engine caught on fire...but it looked pretty much the same!
The ladies on a ferry crossing a little river! Don't worry - we didn't get bilharzia even though we had to wade through the water to climb on the ferry... :)

We had amaazing crepes on the beach in Toubab Diallaw. An amazing place on the coast with big cliffs!

This basket was SUPER heavy and yet they still managed to load it on the roof! You can put ANYTHING on the roof of a vehicle in Senegal...ANYTHING!
