Photos again... more will come from this coming weekend in Saint Louis

So this picture is from an evening ages ago when I had all the Congolese boys over to the house for dinner and Boundao (the mom in the house) helped me cook a delicious dinner which we ate on the roof top!

I am going to miss having a roof top! Where else am I going to keep the sheep I want to bring home with me?? But I suppose since most of the year it would be too cold...it just doesn't make sense in Canada :(

The wedding! These photos are backwards again but this is at the reception. The guy sitting beside me is the groom! Isn't that a snazzy suit?

You can't have a good wedding without some dancing! And yes, those are pink pants...explanation to come....

The boys all dressed up! The Congolese (I think lots of French west african countries) have this thing/movement/concept called 'Les sapeurs.' It is mostly when you are overseas (mostly in Europe) the goal is to dress very snazzy... in classy clothes. I don't really understand it but it means that anytime we go out they are dressed impeccably and since this was a wedding... it was even more superb! It is a pride thing being the snazziest dresser with the most authentic clothing! When Jeannick walked in with the pink pants there was applause in the room for his style!

The happy couple! He is Congolese and she is Senegalese but with Guinean heritage. He is Christian and she is Muslim! Not sure how they swung that, but Friday they had the ceremony at the Mosque and he had someone representing him inside. Saturday was the civil wedding and the reception.

Aimée, a friend from campus last year! I wont tell you how many pictures we took of him in this pose and in others... it isn't enough to be dressed fancily, you have to have 100 kinds of documentation of it for later :)

The wedding party!

The happy newly wed couple! The mayor who preformed the ceremony was really great and was making jokes and quite eloquent. The Congolese Ambassador was there as well... he was less eloquent but he tried!

In city hall!
